« Back to Seed Stitch Crochet Dishcloth Pattern
1 ball Sugar & Cream cotton
1 Size I crochet hook
1 tapestry needle
Ch. 36
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch*, repeat between *'s across. 35 sts. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in 1st sc and in next ch loop. *Ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch space,* repeat between *'s across, sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 3: Sc in 1st sc, *ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch space,* repeat between *'s across, ending ch 1, sc in last sc.
Repeat rows 2 & 3 for pattern until dishcloth is square. Mine have 33 rows - your row gauge may vary. After the last row, don't turn, ch 2. Working in the sides of the rows, sc in the side of the row you just finished, ch 2, sk one row, sc in side of next row, until you get to the starting ch. Ch 2, sc in first ch space, ch 2, sk next sc, sc in next ch space. Repeat around. Fasten off.
There - very complicated instructions for something that's super simple when you do it. I won't insult anyone's intelligence by spelling out every single detail. :::Grin:::
This works equally well with a solid color and the seed stitch gives the cloth a little texture for scrubbing. :) Enjoy!
