Heck - a blog entry chronicling an FO is the icing on the cake...and now I can go to bed & dream of new projects!
Without further ado.... the romantically named, "Vogue Cardi #19":
I went with vintage, jet buttons from Doug's mother's stash:
Here's the back:
And here it is unbuttoned:
STATS:
Pattern - Vogue Cardi #19, Vogue Knitting Spring, 2007
Needles - Size 8, Knit Picks Options
Yarn - 5 skeins Cotton Ease in Popsical Blue
Mods - I added 3 inches to the waist ribbing (bringing it up to 6") and I'm VERY glad I did. The cropped look just wouldn't have worked with my long waist. That 3" of ribbing would've hit right under my bust. Not a good look - trust me. ::wink:: As it is, this is exactly the length that I like to wear cardis. Yay!
I found no problems with the pattern - I knit as written except for the additional 3" and the fact that I went from a 7 to an 8 needle to make it just a bit bigger than the largest size of 40". It came out right at 42" - just what I wanted.
I like it too. :) I'll be getting a lot of wear out of this next fall. It's perfect for school and will go with lots of different things in my closet.
Next....you ain't gonna believe the projects I have lined up. ::wink:: I received yet another new knitting book in the mail and suddenly the sky's the limit! Hehehehe
Good night!
