I'm going ghost-hunting tonight! Our Dean of Students has been planning this excursion for a couple of months with several teachers from school. Check it out. (We are going ghost hunting, not touring.) We'll get to use EMF detectors, heat sensors, etc. It'll be a blast! Doug's decided to join us after work tonight. He'll miss the Mexican dinner, but be there for the ghosts!
I just hope I can stay up past 9...
If I get any cool images, I'll be sure & post 'em tomorrow. :)
In the midst of the last minute push to finish homework for one of my classes, Christmas 'sploded at our house (my father-in-law made that coffee table for Doug when he was born.):
We had a great time watching our annual holiday kick-off movie, "Christmas Vacation," and puttering. We have all the inflatables up outside as well as a few other trailer-trash-type decorations. When Doug puts up all the icicle lights, I'll take pix for here. :) I grew up with nary a light nor twinkle outside our house. (My Dad thought Xmas lights looked trashy.) Now I'm making up for lost time!
Dylan and I were commenting yesterday that even though we have a good reason to be sad and not have any Christmas spirit, this year we're fairly brimming with it. It might be because last year's Christmas was really bad. I don't think anyone in our family had a good time. Not sure why - just one of those spiritless years.
I'm particularly glad to see Dylan so Christmasy. He tends to be a very logical, even-tempered type. It's fun to see him running around the yard, figuring out where to best plug in lights and laughing.
Part of it too, I'm sure, is the mega-electronic Xmas we'll be having this year. Doug & the kids are going to pick up our new, wall-mount, 52" plasma TV tomorrow. (With a Blu-ray too.) Our old projection screen 52" is going down into Dylan's room for game-play. He can hardly wait to play Call of Duty, Gears of War, etc. on a screen that big.
There are also individual presents such as a new iPod, iPod docks, a telescope, a mini-fridge....
Well...let's just say my family is doing it's part to keep the economy going this year!
I've actually got half a dozen presents finished and plenty of time to knit/crochet a few more. :) I'll be showing you the slippers I finished next time. Not sure yet who will be getting them. Next weekend, after I take my online final for my gifted class, I'll be making cookies....and more cookies....and maybe some candy too.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Thanksgiving weekend. :) I'm enjoying mine...once I decided to NOT grade my kid's essays this weekend! I'll have plenty of time next week....
