Good luck on the Cardi-last night I started something, started it 4 times to get gauge mind you and I think there's an error. I searched the internet, found lots of remarks about errors in the "Amazing Lace Crochet" book-no correction or errata sheet-even a site where Doris Chan said "To err is human" and to "follow the chart, not the words"-aarch-I still want this book, but wish it had an errata sheet (library book for now).

Oddly also, I received an email from my mother-baby shower on March 4th-2 boys, can you make two sweaters, booties and matching blankets-LOL-I told her "Good luck on that, I can't even get the blanket edging done on fleece I bought weeks ago for a shower I have for twins this weekend".

Margaret

Bron you are such a fast knitter, you could have the sweater & booties done in less than a day!

It is nice to have more than a few days' notice though!

Have a great day everyone!

Linda

Wouldn't you know it? The one thing I'd picked from the book that I just had to try is giving you problems. Can you hear me sobbing?

Vera

I want to make that cardi too. It's really cute, and I think Cotton Ease will work nicely for those baby sweaters and booties.

Bron

No worries! I figured it out! Whew! The instructions were just crap, that's all. ::wink:: Details tomorrow!

I have a baby sweater to start. ::wink::

Hey Bron - I sent an email to what I think is your address about the Owl Sweater. Let me know if you don't get it!

Karen Carter

Pattern errors I think they're part of determining whether or not the pattern is rated easy, intermediate or advanced. It's not the garment so much as trying to figure out where the pattern instructions are going. It makes me mad, especially when you shell out some bucks. Glad you were able to figure it out; let us know what you did, ok!

Wendy

Does the designer have an email address?

I like the baby things. I might have to do that. My cousin is having a baby soon and I started a sweater for him, but I don't like how it is turning out. It is just too girly. I also am unsure about my yarn choice.

Terri

The baby things are really sweet and should definitely give you an instant gratification hit. Shame about the cardi. Fingers crossed for you that it isn't an error in the pattern. If you still think it is, could you contact the magazine and ask? I got a great response from the Jo Sharp people when I contacted them with a query about yarn and pattern. Could be worth a try if you really really want to make the cardi.
