Since there isn't a rule about posting twice in one day, I decided I couldn't wait to share. :) Besides, it's back to work tomorrow - yikes! I took advantage of a little free time tonight and....here she is!:
"Hola, Senor!"
"Excuse me while I turn my back for a second."
"Look at my pretty buttons!"
"I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille..."
Here are the stats on this most glorious, first sweater of 2007 here at Casa De Bron:
Pattern - From the booklet "River", 2005, Classic Elite
Yarn - 6 skeins of the new Cotton Ease is "Almond."
Needles - Size 8 KP Optiions
Mods - I made the body 4" longer and the sleeves 6" shorter.
Satisfaction quotient - unlimited.
Ok - I'm getting my own horn and blowin' it, baby. I love this sweater. From top to bottom, from lace to fit, this is a winner. I had a moment of panic when I thought the fronts weren't going to be wide enough to meet across my chest (!!!) but all was well once the button bands were knit on. (I added a couple of rows to each button band for the heck of it - I'm sure that made a difference. ::wink:::)
I can't say enough about the new CE. Just like the old CE but in lovely, grown-up colors. It was a dream to knit - soft & forgiving.
There were (gasp!) NO errors in the pattern. I was using light worsted yarn instead of the DK called for in the pattern, so I knit the size 38 to get a 42 and it was spot on for size.
I think I need to rest on something...where DID I put those laurels??????
Fountain Lace is beautiful. I'd say Bron's 2007 year is off to a great start. Congratulations!

Oh, congrats! It looks great.
I just noticed... did you realize that the cardi is almost the exact color of the background on your blog? It's a lovely color.

Very nice!

The smile says it all and I have to agree. It looks wonderful Bron!! Congrats! Well done. You did a great job. Now this confirms my suspicions that a lacy bodice AND lacy sleeves are not always advisable. The plainer sleeves in this cardi of yours really allow the pattern in the front and back to be a design feature. Not just more of the same. I love it. :o)

Excellent! Don't you love it when everything about a pattern comes together perfectly as it did in Fountain Lace?

You have never looked happier with a finished knit! It is a lovely sweater, Bron and it looks great on you. I suspect there will be a run on the book after people see these pictures. Nice to hear that CE is still just as good, too.

Beautiful!! And I think that the mods to sleeve legnth were a great choice. One of the reasons I am learning to knit sweaters is so that I can get arms that fit!
You are such an inspiration!!

Thanks, everyone! I'm really SO pleased it turned out so well. I think I'm learning that sweaters that are close-fitting and lacey are my very favorites. Well, throwing in a couple of cables doesn't hurt either. ::wink::
Psssst...I'm posting this from work for the first time ever! I have prep and forgot my crocheting! Aaaargh! So I'm keeping myself occupied with the computer...hehehe
