I have an early version of Sweater Wizard. It is helpful for when I want to change (i.e. make larger) a commercial pattern. I use it occasionally for simple patterns for shop customers. I think it was a good investment for things like this but for designing I think it's limited.

Bron, my #2 son has seen Batman Begins 3 times already and it is close to the top of his Xmas list! I'll bet your boys love it! Christian Bale is *good*. I'm looking forward to watching it with him (y'know, his 4th or 5th time). :-)

I use Knitware Sweaters program at
I find it quite easy to use, as you can change measurements wherever needed before you print. It also gives you graphics of the schematics.
You can download a demo copy of it, too.

nope - sorry don't use knitting software - I'm a bit uninventive like that!

I have Knitware Sweater Design 2.22. It's worse than useless and I never use it. Fortunately I only paid $10 for it & some related software at Half Price Books.

Gigi is a nice easy sweater with hardly any seaming. I love the one I made last year.

I hear Sweater Wizard is a good program.

Thanks, everyone. :) I've been reading on the internet too & it seems that the latest version of Sweater Wizard is a favorite of many. So far, the cheapest I've found is KnitPicks...might make a nice Yule gift to myself. :)

Vera - Even though I dislike knitting in the round, I'm doing it on Gigi because I don't like messing *too* much with a design by Bonne Marie - except for the sleeves. I'm knitting them flat! I don't mind seaming & I really dislike dpns! hehehe
