Dani

I think you were updating as I was trying to post on the 19th post... so, here it goes!

Love your new stash and no wonder you are craving skittles... I think a bag of skittles clearly resembles your new yarn :)

It wouldn't surprise me that Tuesdays yarn is seconds... I still need to find a Tuesday so that I can get some plain colors to dye maybe?!

lynette

great detective work! i'm going to tuesday morning today, and i'll compare the yarn that i have to what i buy. thanks a bunch for sleuthing. ;)

mia

That is one thing I had noticed the few times I have been in Tuesday Morning was that a lot of their stuff was seconds. There isn't one around here so I really don't get to do to one. But a lot of the outlet type stores carry seconds I have found. But if you can live with it....

Bron

Dani - As far as I know, there aren't any plain colors available - although my store did have Wool-Ease in off-white. But I don't think they'd dye well due to the acrylic content.

Thanks, Lynette - I kinda wish I would've thought to check in the store, but this is the first I've heard of a difference in Cotton Ease quality.

Mia - I'm glad it was only two colors that were effected, 15 skeins. I probably wouldn't have bought the red & turquoise if I'd known. You really don't expect the packaged yarn to be seconds, even at a Tuesday Morning type of store. I just wonder how many others are getting a little surprise when they dive into their CE deals!

Tifffany

I am going to have to check mine out now! The only color I got there was 4 bags of the popsical blue...but I'll check my Joann's stuff too, just to compare ;)

Knittykim

well, would Tuesday Mornings (innocently or not) sell something labeled as Cotton Ease when it is NOT CottonEase? Perhaps it is really CottonEaz!! you know, similar but not quite the same product...

Pam

We don't have that store in our area, but we do have similar stores. It has been my experience that big discount stores like that usually deal in seconds of yarn.

I hope you will be able to use them in some project!

marcia

I checked out Tuesday Morning after the knitlist alert, and re-alert and repeated re-alert. They had the same colors you show, minus the turqouise, which is what I really wanted. I did buy some orange (I'm in an orange period. Bought two orange tops this spring, without thinking)

AFter I got home I decided it was such a good deal, I needed more and went back for blue. The clerks laughed when they saw me come in. I was quite the center of attention the first visit, as I carried my pile of orange around the store.

And I needed more yarn like I needed....well, I think you know.

Pam - I think I'll be able to. I might double it just to make it feel more like the Cotton Ease I was expecting.

Yep, Marcia - I needed more like...well, you know. But heck - it's a buying frenzy & I had to get in on it!

Monica

Detroit-area, MI Go, Pistons!!!!!!!!!!!
I found a Tuesday Morning in Rochester MI and they had Cotton Ease! The price was right. It is funny, I was at Joann's, and my Joann's was out of Cotton Ease. I wanted white, but there was none. So I got orange, red, blue, and bubble gum. $5.99 for a package or 3...so $2 a peice is pretty good. TM also had some Polar. Thanks for the tip. Why is Lion Brand getting rid of Cotton Ease?
