(Yeah, it was a project that was supposed to use up my fabric stash, but I didn't have quite the right fabrics IN my stash to make a quilt to go with her color scheme. You all know how that goes....)
I plan to cut all the pieces today & get some strip sets sewn. Just to refresh memories, I'm making a Hidden Wells Quilt. I really like strip-pieced quilts that look like you've gone to much more trouble than you really have. ::grin::
I got to the 3rd row of the lace pattern on the Vine Vest,
realized something was wrong somewhere, didn't feel like ripping out 3 rows (the yarn is SO splitty since I knit & ripped it in another project) so I picked up Boatneck and knit 10 inches on the second sleeve:
I'm so close now I might as well finish up Boatneck before going back to the Vine Lace Vest.
So much for trying to make the blog more interesting - ha!
This weekend I'll also be doing a couple of practice essays for my big test on the 7th. The basic skills test is 100 multiple choice questions & one essay. Examples of the essay questions: What has been the biggest challenge in your life? What is one decision you regret? If you could change one thing in the educational system what would it be? Etc., etc.
I'm not concerned about the writing, although there are some topics that I'd prefer over others, but the essay HAS to be between 300 & 600 words exactly (they count every word) so I'm going to type up practice essays to get a word count on the computer & time myself. I'd like to be able to crank it out in under an hour.
It's just as well Doug & the kids are leaving on Monday - I'll have some peace & time to get myself organized.
