Circuit City had a Cyber Monday sale and I had money to spend with no patience left. (Although I've heard that patience is a virtue. ::wink::)
Bottom line - I got tired of looking for my lost iPod and damn it - I wanted to hear my music & watch videos again!:
This isn't an iPod video like the one I lost. It's a Classic with 80GB rather than 30GB of memory. I can't tell any difference (other than the shape of the screen) between the video playback on this one and my iPod video (although there must be a significant difference since the video models are a couple of hundred more retail!) I'm sure someone out there who is more savvy than I can fill me in 'cause I couldn't find any info on line.
I CAN, however, tell you that the sound quality is amazing with my new one. Easily 50% better than the iPod I lost. Even with the semi-crappy ear buds that come with it. :)
My good day didn't stop there. :) I went to an orientation meeting for my Alternative Licensing program through CNM. Long story short, I found out that I need to pick up one more English class this spring before the school will be able to hire me for Lang/Lit or Gifted. I have 58 credit hours in history (which will get me my Intern teaching license) but only 22 in English. I need 24 to teach it on the special license. So I get to pick something fun to learn this spring and dip my toe in the education pool before I dive in this summer. (See how good I am with metaphor? I'll totally kick butt as a Lang/Lit gifted teacher. hehehehe)
The rest of the information was very reassuring. As long as I get a written job offer, I'll be automatically accepted in the program, have 3 years to earn my regular license, and be on the fast track to educational glory. (OK - maybe I made up the "glory" part. ::wink::)
Did I tell you that CNM is absolutely free for residents of the district? It'll cost me $40 to register for classes & approx. $100/semester for books. That's it. No fee for classes.
I love this town.
Here's more fun in the mail:
My Annie's Attic order came in. I just couldn't resist the Santa's Workshop booklet:
Check out Mrs. Claus and the tray of cookies! I won't get all this crocheted for this year, but I swear I'll have the whole grouping for next!
Here's my precious gingerbread house pattern:
I'm going to have a lot of fun re-doing this one. Especially since I scavenged the gumdrops from the last one!
Hold good thoughts for Colin: I told him that he could have my iPod Video if he could find it. Talk about motivation!
Have a great weekend! I'll be back in a day or two with a finished table topper. :)
