And a blessed Samhain to one & all.
What better way to celebrate than a peek at the new Cotton Ease colors, eh?
Available in late November, I know what Santa is bringing in my stocking! Make that, "stockings!" hehehe
I'll keep things short today because the kids & I have the day off (Yay! for P/T conferences) and we have lots to do. (Yep - there's a Ouija board in my future...as well as many other Halloweenish activities. There's also a trip to Wally-World in the offing, but that certainly isn't spooky! Unless you go at about 2 in the morning. LOL)
I've started the LB Suede crocheted jacket and already had to seriously frog. I got this far:
And realized two things: The jacket was going to be extremely short on me (which is NOT how it's shown in the picture) and that I couldn't live with that left ridge on the pleat looking the way it did. (Another little "oopsey" in the pattern) So - I ripped. Even though things got out of hand with the froggin':
I persevered & fixed it all. Now I have this:
You can see I added a bit over 3" to the length - I really had to. As it was, the buttons at the top of the pleat, which you see here:
Would be in line not with my waist but with my armpits! The pictures with this are very deceiving, in my opinion. Plus, there is no schematic, no measurements given at all. You are told to crochet for X number of rows, rather than X inches. I really dislike that in any pattern.
As it is, I know approximately how long a jacket needs to be on me - even a cropped one - so I adjusted for my measurements. I also know approximately how big the armscyes need to be so I'll adjust them accordingly too.
I have a suspicion I'll be running down to MY Michael's to get an extra skein of yarn to handle all my "adjustments" but heck - I've come this far, now it's a point of honor to finish! ::Grin::
Besides, this stuff really is crocheting up into one seriously soft jacket. I'm hoping there's a bit of drape when it's all said & done & I'll be a happy crocheter. :)
Here's hoping you have lots of treats & no tricks today! Have fun!
